FULL PERSONALITY//
The goddess of fertility and for many a symbol of life, death and reincarnation, Persephone is a vivacious, free-spirited woman, in many ways a contrasting personality from that of her husband. She is a fun-loving deity, though hardly as innocent as she had once been before being kidnapped by Hades. She is generous and helpful to deities and heroes that visit her in the underworld given that they pay her the proper respect; otherwise she is known to be quite vengeful, having been known to go so far as to turn a boastful nymph into a mint plant and causing the death of the aging poet Pindar after being the only deity not to receive a hymn.
She is a vain creature, but loving and loyal, especially to Hades (though she has been known to take lovers in return for his infidelity). She is intelligent, always able to hold her own in a conversation and extremely argumentative and stubborn. Her sense of humor is dry, her wit sharp and her temper dangerous if you happen to provoke it. In the right mood she can be dark, elusive and mysterious, much like the many legends which surround her name. She is extremely charming and sociable, however, a lover of banquets and celebrations, especially ones which are devoted to her. While she does show impulsive, selfish and immature tendencies, she is completely confident and makes no apology for any of her possible flaws.

FULL HISTORY//
Long ago, long before the marriage of Hera and Zeus, an affair was had between Zeus and the goddess Demeter. The result was lovely Persephone of Greece, Proserpina of Italy, a sweet and cheerful child goddess who adored flowers. She spent her time with her mother or playing with Zeus’ other daughters and the daughters of Oceanos, unaware of the promise made by her father that she would marry Hades, the king of the underworld who had fallen in love with her. And so unwittingly, as she bent to pick a narcissus flower, she found herself suddenly kidnapped by Hades and destined to become his bride.
Demeter, unknowing of the promise made by Zeus, was distraught over the disappearance of her daughter and consequently began a desperate search to find her. When she finally discovered what had happened to her and that Zeus had been behind it all she became furious, withholding her blessings on all of the land. Famines followed, vegetation refused to grow, and Greece became a barren wasteland as a result of Demeter’s protest; the crisis was extreme enough that before long Zeus was forced to step in. He descended into the Underworld to command Hades to return Persephone, unless somehow she had happened to show consent to the marriage.
In search of a plan that would allow him to keep his new bride, Hades remembered the law that dictated that anyone who should consume food or drink in the Underworld was fated to stay there forever; he tricked Persephone by convincing her to eat seven pomegranate seeds (some have said that she had known and eaten them on purpose). Persephone was trapped, though because of the small amount of the food she had eaten the gods were able to create a compromise between Demeter and Hades. From then on, Persephone would spend part of the year with Hades in his kingdom, during which the Earth would again become barren and dry, and for another part she would return to her mother, allowing the crops to again begin to flourish. Because of this Persephone, queen of the Underworld and goddess of fertility, had become the harbinger of spring.

"Sì, mamma, sono benissimo...No, non ho rinunciato ancora." The dainty, rather bored looking blonde rolled her eyes in annoyance at the person on the other end of the phone, half wishing that they would be able to see so that she could be left alone. "Sì, bene. Arrivederci." Click. Beep. Phone off.
Pandora shoved the device back into the pocket of her jeans and looked idly down at the toes of her high-heeled shoes as she made her way slowly down the street. A colourful silk-blend top hung loosely over her body, blowing in the light breeze that at the moment was turned against her. She smiled in spite of herself, though still frustrated from the conversation that had just been ended; if her parents were going to go so far as to banish her to the middle of nowhere, couldn't they at least have had the decency not to call her?
Today had been one of the seldom free days that Pandora had chosen not to spend with the horses anyways, and instead had decided to spend her time wandering the streets of the small town she now called her home, in search of something worthy of her attention for at least a little while. Simply looking around at the scenery would no longer suffice; this place was not nearly as beautiful as Tuscany had been, and once one had been spoiled by the best it was extremely difficult to go back to the average.
A soft sigh escaped her lips; it was hot, incredibly hot, but that was hardly her biggest complaint of the moment, and besides she didn't mind the heat quite as much as she did the cold. It was just this town that suffocated her, and as much as she wanted to she knew she couldn't spend the rest of her life locked up in the stables.
