Artemis turned back. She knew Aphrodite was up to something, but she was willing to try to be around men more. The maiden heard what the Goddess said and replied, "Well it doesn't matter does it? I mean if that man was a God couldn't he be killed by another God or Goddess? I didn't say anything about mortals in general. Also I never said husband." Artemis smirked, "I really think you need to pay a little more attention Aphrodite. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but it would be easier to learn from your mistakes then continue on with them." Artemis blushed. She wasn't sure as to why she was doing this, but if it made her friend happy then she was willing to do it for him. Every night Artemis dreamed of Orion and how they used to hunt together. The two of them had always had fun on their hunts. Artemis's enterage thought it strange that their leader was breaking her own law.
Later when Orion had died, Artemis vowed never to love another man again. Artemis remembered that she had cried for months before reality hit her and she returned to her maiden huntresses. The huntresses were about to give up on their leader when she returned. They had noticed that she realized her place was with them and nowhere else. Artemis had planned a big hunt and the girls had alot of fun. Artemis smiled at that memory and remembered that that hunt had lasted for two centuries before the group was thoughourly satisfied. Artemis was once again the one with the bigger catch.
Artemis sighed. She knew some of the girls had already had their futures planned for them and she had snatched them away at nine years old. Artemis would return to those girls and let them go with the power of eternal life... well at least until they wish to die with whatever man they called their husband. Artemis knew that some of these girls would like that while the others would be upset. Then Artemis would say those that wished to stay maidens could and that they could leave anytime they desired and that she herself would leave them, but she would choose a new leader when the time came.
For now Artemis would toy around with men before she found the one for her. When she did she would choose her successor and leave them. Artemis would let her future daughters decide if they wanted to stay maidens or have children. It was their choice and Artemis wasn't going to force anyone to do anything any longer. She nodded to Aphrodite, "I am willing to try it your way for now, but be warned if I don't like your choice then I will let Eros choose. He does choose good candidates for mortals and immortals alike. I've seen him doing his duties now and again when I was in the area hunting." She smiled at Eros to say that she thought he was a good matchmaker. Though she did see one or two relationships sours, most of them had been been good choices. Artemis waited. She knew that Aphrodite and Eros weren't done with her.
Then she remembered her nickname that she never used, Diana. Artemis decided she might use that from time to time in order to confuse others, but only as a last resort. Everyone knew her as Artemis, the maiden huntress. Even the mortals knew her and they feared her like they feared the other Gods and Goddesses. No one compared themselves to an immortal. Bad things would happen if they did. Artemis remembered when one of the mortals compared herself to Artemis. The woman was still suffering her punishment to this day.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY LIKE THE NIGHT OF CLOUDLESS CLIMES AND STARRY SKIES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND ALL THAT'S BEST OF DARK AND BRIGHT MEET IN HER ASPECT AND HER EYES Aphrodite sat there and started to cook up a plan. She was thinking of letting Artemis get used to men, maybe a party would suit it better. Some getting to know and interaction would be nice and Aphrodite missed being the gem of the party. She usually was and she missed the attention men gave her. Aphrodite traced her lips in thought and smiled at the very image she conjured up in her mind. A party. That’ll just be marvelous. It has to be perfect though and Aphrodite started to make a mental list of who to invite and who not to. But maybe, she should start with a mortal. Mortal men were weak to Goddesses. They would throw themselves to Artemis’ feet in a second, before they throw themselves to her of course. But it would be trouble some if they would really love together. Another mortal becoming an immortal. Aphrodite drifted to the thought of setting her up with a nymph or some kind. This was going to be hard, Aphrodite thought. But this was going to be one heck of another adventure for her since she didn’t have anything to do at the moment. Might as well stir someone’s life up.
Temper flared as Artemis piped up, “choose your words wisely Artemis or you will regret it with you life,” she glowered threateningly at her. All her angelic façade quickly evaporated as her blue eyes turned ice cold and her face set itself to cold mode. But she knew all in all that Artemis was right, but the way she said it stirred up the vicious side of Aphrodite. She was known to be ruthless, yes, and she’d go to lengths just to have herself been satisfied. Not caring whether the person she was torturing was dying. “If I wasn’t paying attention Artemis, I would have made you fall for a mongoloid mortal and killed him,” her voice was cold as ice and it was sharp, but somehow it was controlled. Aphrodite glowered still but smoothed her temper in case. She brushed her blonde hair, Aphrodite was known to have a temper anyway, and this would not be news. It would be news if she had laughed and brushed it off, what Artemis said. “And your mistake honey, was not making your move,” she replied in a low voice and looked at Artemis from her lashes. “Oh I know Artemis, it isn’t much of a secret,” a sly smile found Aphrodite’s lips and decided not to say more.
“Oh relax,” Aphrodite rolled her eyes and waved her hands dismissively. “My plans for you is to have a little interaction anyway, to make you used to or at least know how to be relaxed around men,” she looked over her shoulder and looked upon the glimpse of the temple. Maybe she would let the party plan open if it was the case but then somehow she wasn’t in a party mood much. “Don’t think that you have any choice Artemis,” she looked at Artemis from behind her lashes again and made her look as if she was cooking an evil plan. Which she had but then made the impression vanish with her beatific smile. “Don’t worry that little head of yours, leave it to Eros and me, besides two heads are better than one right?” she asked which was meant to be rhetorical.

Eros watched the scene unfold before him, it was not a pleasant sight at that. He watched as Artemis left for a moment, before his mother spoke. He frowned her plans of such often had terrible outcomes, although in one case it had been a wonderful outcome. That being Psyche. His mother then spoke, and he grimaced a fraction. He didn't like it. "Love is not an emotion to be toyed with mother" He said for the first time standing up for himself, Psyche had possibly brought out the worst in himself. "First Artemis has to see it, then understand it in order to know what love is, for otherwise, my arrows would be useless." He replied.
He then looked toward the door as he saw Artemis re-enter, listening to her speak, he pursed his lips, for Artemis to speak to his mother like that, would be a bad move. Still Cupid listened, and gave a tentative smile given Artemis's offer. "I shall do my best, when and if the time comes." He said politely. Before then he heard his mothers sudden outburst, as a reflex he instantly moved away. Like a startled bird. His wings beat strong as he remained in the air perhaps the safest place there was. He soon crossed his legs as he remained mid-air, looking between Artemis and his mother. cautiously he spoke, he would have to tread lightly.
"What Artemis is trying to say, is she is not ready to commit herself, to a true being, given her experience, she wishes to-as mortals say- 'Play the field' at least till she rekindles her liking for love, As I have said, she has to see it and understand it before she can truly accept love, For most of the time, My arrows choose of their own accord. You should know that.." he said referring to Psyche and himself. Eros glanced to Artemis and gave her a small, 'I got your back' smile, although he knew he would probably suffer that consequence later from his mother.
With a sigh, Eros watched, and dreaded. For one he didn't like the tone his mother used, hence keeping his distance. Aphrodite words were layered thick with a potential plan and sarcasm. If Artemis wished to see another hunt, she would either back down and apologize or simply leave. Watching his mothers anger was like watching a hurricane, destroy everything in it's path without mercy. At his mothers comment he decided to too back her up. Looking to Artemis he replied "there is a point, for you to simply get use to another's mans company, you have not been around them much, it is perhaps wise to first accept the company of men, before you progress to the next level, you would then have to learn how to charm them, then know what it is they desire before you can have your way with them, which ever that way may be."

Artemis staggered back at Aphrodite's sudden change. She quickly grew wary of the Goddess. "All I was trying to mean is that I never said husband. That's all. I'm sorry if I angered you, but it was unintentional." The maiden goddess quickly figured now would be a good time to leave. "I'll be hunting if you need me." She turned and left. She felt her hair become sprayed with mist from the falls, but Artemis didn't care. She had hunting preperations to plan and she had to figure out a way tell gently tell the other maidens that they could do as they please without hurting them. The eternal 9 year olds loved their statuses. Artemis turned her tthoughts to Eros and thought that he was a pretty decent God despite the fact that he was a male. If things turned out well then they might end up as friends and Artemis was looking forward to it.
The dark haired maiden's hair flew behind her as she ran back to her forest. Once there she was glad to be in the cool shade of the trees and to the sounds of the forest. Birds sang and bees flew in and out of their beehives. Soon Artemis found the other huntresses waiting for her. They were dressed to hunt an Artemis felt the thrill of the hunt flaring in her. She nodded to the girls and quickly changed into her hunting uniform. Once her bow and arrows were in her hands she felt much calmer and happier. The maiden journeyed with her maidens deep into the forest and began their hunt.
Artemis loved to hunt and almost nothing could tear her away. Now she was about to try something new. Would she like it and accept it or would she stay on the path of the maiden forever? Only the Fates knew and Artemis wasn't about to visit them now to find out she might die tomorrow. The dark haired maiden didn't want that and she wasn't one to tempt fate anyway. If she was to die then she would die. Artemis would rather make her own choices and decide her own fate then to have fate choose for her. Artemis's mind raced as all the thoughts of men and love flooded her mind. Orion would be happy that she was coming out of her shell, but was she happy? Artemis thought she was, but then again there was more to herself that not even she knew

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY LIKE THE NIGHT OF CLOUDLESS CLIMES AND STARRY SKIES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND ALL THAT'S BEST OF DARK AND BRIGHT MEET IN HER ASPECT AND HER EYES Aphrodite rolled her brilliant blue eyes, getting rather tiresome with the topic. It was spoiling her happy mood. “Honey, that’s what your arrows are for” she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, “that’s what your arrows are for, making people instantly fall in love without the knowledge or lesson of what love is though love is not to be taught, it lies within,” the words were deep even for Aphrodite and a wicked smile touched her lips. She traced her lips again and thought of the plans she had made. True enough they mostly ended up bad especially with Eros and Psyche, most especially them. Aphrodite sighed, “you weren’t like this before her, what has she done to you,” Aphrodite had now stood up and crossed over to Eros. Her eyes were full of warmth, hurt and regret as she touched his cheek lovingly. “What has she done to you?” she repeated in a whisper but then dropped her hand and looked away. She missed her young Eros who connived with her and gave her excellent ideas of a small riot. She walked gracefully onto the marble floor and stood over her fountain.
Aphrodite knew she was being too harsh on the goddess but it was the only way to have her plan go her way. She knew Eros was backing her up, Aphrodite made him like that. Kind, considerate, charming, and true enough the trait he was showing now might not have come from her. Despite the fact that’s she loathed his wife, it was her own fault that it was so, Eros showed interest towards Psyche before but in a play thing way. If he’d only been careful she’d be having a laugh by now. But he spent most of his time with his wife. Of course, not like her, Aphrodite kept going around, men after men, not thinking about the feelings of her husband. Aphrodite knew how kind and considerate her husband was but he was ugly. And she never suggested the marriage. Though she couldn’t help but feel guilty most of the times when her memories flit to the times where she’d been grateful of him. She was the goddess of love for heavens sake, of course she could learn how to love her husband. But not the way a wife loves her husband, but maybe closer.
Aphrodite listened to them talk but didn’t say a peek. She didn’t even acknowledge the goddess when she apologized to her. She continued to look at the rippling water and waited for her to leave. When she heard the doors close, she looked back at Eros and raised her eyebrows. Being a mother, she wanted respect, “don’t ever talk back Eros unless I permit you to,” she said in a strict and firm tone of voice. The way she regarded Eros was very motherly but the way she looked didn’t look close to being a mother. Nor did she show the hints that she ever gave birth.

"My arrows are not toys Mother..Love is not something you can give or take. Love is yes within a being, but They must realize what love is before they can fall in love, Psyche, knew what love was. Some people do not wish to love, because they are as cold hearted as Hades. My arrows are only for good intentions, given the one..or two odd exceptions." Eros remained at head height in the air, away from his mother. He heard his words and looked down slightly "I was reckless before I met her, I was reckless with my arrows." He added and raised his chin up slightly. "I didn't know what love truly was, now that I am with Psyche, I know what love is, and I know when you see it or feel it." He watched cautiously as his mother came over to him. "She has opened my eyes." He replied simply, matter-of-fact as he felt his mothers rare display of affection to his cheek. He didn't know how to reply to that. He knew it was a possible show at the least.
Eros watched silently as his mother moved away and he looked briefly to Artemis. Yes. He would indeed pay his consequences later. He exhaled in a sigh as he glanced to them both. He watched his mother carefully, could see the intensity in her thoughts, He had over stepped the line he knew that now. Tentatively he spoke "I know what your thinking." He bluffed yet to an extent he did know "Your still jealous of her aren't you? Psyche a wonderful person, Mother please why must you continue to hate her, if you just gave her a chance.." he pleaded sheepishly, before he pursed his lips he'd have to please his mother, "Her beauty, doesn't compare to yours mother.." he added although it was a lie. such was to him the most beautiful being he had ever seen. "You know, why others worshiped her more? Because, she was kind, caring, she knew and understood what love is, She's loyal, and she returns favours.." He bit his lip he was treading on thin ice. "Perhaps if..if you were to change slightly, many would fall once again at your feet? and not give a second glance at Psyche..?" He offered slowly.
Eros turned his gaze from his mother to Artemis, "Farewell Artemis, I may see you around some time." He said with a small smile as the door closed, his smile faded as he awaited for the volcano to erupt, and so it did. At his mothers harsh tone, words and expression. Cupid grimaced and looked down as he fumbled with his bow, like a scolded 2 year old. "I know..I-i'm sorry, It wasn't my place..but I had to say something..I'm sorry it-it won't happen again." He stumbled over his words, he felt suddenly very intimidated by her. The difference between Psyche, was the fact she knew how to love, she showed it. It was often Psyche he went too when he wished to confined in anyone, his mother was perhaps, just about approachable.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY LIKE THE NIGHT OF CLOUDLESS CLIMES AND STARRY SKIES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND ALL THAT'S BEST OF DARK AND BRIGHT MEET IN HER ASPECT AND HER EYES Aphrodite listened to her son’s speech but wasn’t moved at all. Even though it was spoken out of Eros’ mouth with much passion and emotion but neither moved the goddess. All she saw was her brain washed son, blinded by his own reckless doing hence his current state. She might’ve looked like she was listening but truth was, she was just separating the facts for her and the lies. Aphrodite pitied her son as if he had become a hobo mortal and then shook her beautiful head. “And what are your arrows for Eros?” she asked as she cocked her head, “your arrows are for making people unlikely to fall in love do so, you can’t make people fall in love when they are already in love,” Aphrodite said rather one-sidedly as she walked gracefully to him. “You were so free before and just out there,” she said with her eyes looking as though it was looking in the past. To other eyes, she would have been gliding. She smiled, warmly as though Eros was a naïve child who needed aid to be shown the truth, which to her was so. She rose up her hand and patted Eros lightly on the cheek and giggled her bell like giggle. “Sweet heart, it was your arrows that, as you claim, opened your eyes for you,” she said in an amused tone and then glided across the room. “It didn’t open them, it blinded them,” she whispered as she gazed out onto the clouds and then she looked back at him with her fine brows up. “Want to see a replay of what happened, Eros?” she whispered but it was carried by the wind and made audible.
Aphrodite raised her eyebrows again as he claimed he knew why she still loathed Psyche. Instead of being mad, she let out a cold laugh that seemed to dull the joy of the sun. “First ever Eros, she is not more beautiful than me, I was foolish back then thinking that she was more beautiful than me,” Aphrodite rolled her eyes and scoffed, to women if they scoffed it would probably end up looking and sounding bad but the way Aphrodite do it made it a lovely sound to listen to. “As if that little tick could ever be,” she said, and then her blue eyes pierced at Eros again. Excreting coldness, “claim that to me again Eros and you will regret it,” which was true. Though it would give Aphrodite opening to harm his little wife that would support her hatred towards her. And then her eyes grew colder again and it seemed as if everything had gone dull and the sun never rose. “I am kind, caring, why do you think I am the goddess of love for Eros?” her tone was melodically piercing as Aphrodite glided slowly and threateningly to Eros. “Change? There’s nothing wrong with me,” she paused in the middle of the room. “Tell me Eros, is this your way of subtly saying you want me to…. Hmmm…. Make her life a bit complicated?” Aphrodite had taken a moment to choose her words, it might’ve been simple but Eros knew what she was capable of. The secret sources she had and the tricks she could do.
It was a pretty sight still to see the goddess’s vicious side surfacing. If a mortal of immortal would ever go into the room, he or she could feel the intensity and the temper the goddess was controlling as she stood there in front of her son. Even though he was her son, that wouldn’t stop Aphrodite from doing the worse. True enough Aphrodite is vain unlike any other woman ever lived but she was made that way. She disliked being talked back like this, and even though she was only threatening now. No doubt maybe sooner or later, she’d cook up a plan to teach her son a lesson to learn because of his words. Of course, she’d have great pleasure of doing so. Especially when the weakness was Psyche, someone she was eager to mess around with.

"I..Well, I know what there for, but, I mean.." He frowned "It's not right to mess with others emotions.." He said barely meeting his mothers gaze "Yes..but my arrows do not work unless one or both people know what love is, or even have a kind caring heart at the least. He looked down "some people maybe in love but don't realize it." he said in retort. Eros raised his gaze as his mother came over to him. "I am still the same Mother, I just have, more knowledge of certain things" He sat up straighter and flinched lightly from her touch, he half expected to be clouted, even though it was very unlikely he had only once ever been clouted by his mother. "My arrows opened my heart, Psyche opened my eyes." He replied in truth. Eros frowned, his mother was simply being unreasonable. He fluttered to his mothers side landing on the floor just behind her, his temper was beginning to raise, why could his mother not see? He looked down to where his mother looked "Yes." he replied to her question on wishing to see it, yet he knew it would be through her eyes only.
"Others seem to think so.." He muttered softly, he would stand up to his mother soon, he had too. Psyche would be there for him, he knew that. He took a step back under his mothers intimidating cold gaze, so she wanted the truth? "Psyche is beautiful, warm hearted, caring and kind and loving, she can love, she can even show love. What do you do mother? So far I have seen you do many things for the sake of yourself, You are no longer attractive to any men with that. Psyche Is more beautiful then you, I don't care what you say or do..to me She will be my goddess, my beauty, and you will come second" He stated and rose from the floor with a beat of his wings he fluttered back out of her reach. "So you are that, but all you seem to think about is yourself..you..you never say 'well done Eros' or 'you make me so proud' You don't even say thank you.." At her comment his eyes narrowed "No, this is nothing to do with Psyche, this is to do with you, everything always about you though isn't it?" he challenged although his voice was petty.
Eros knew he had pushed it, crossed the line long ago. His mother was just beginning on the punishment, and her anger. Eros fluttered furthe back, out of her reach, as he looked to her. out of the many god and goddess Eros was perhaps the only one who dared challenge his mother as he did so now, but he knew there would be hell to pay later, and dire consequences. The look his mother had in her eyes perhaps frighted him more so, this was cleary not over.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY LIKE THE NIGHT OF CLOUDLESS CLIMES AND STARRY SKIES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND ALL THAT'S BEST OF DARK AND BRIGHT MEET IN HER ASPECT AND HER EYES It seemed to Aphrodite that her son was not letting this off very easily. If she wasn’t only mad, she would be proud of his perseverance. But every second Eros challenged her seemed to feed the fire that was burning in her. It was a bit hard this time though since she was dealing with her son, the son she had been conniving with these past few centuries. Aphrodite sighed in frustration and looked back at her son. “More knowledge of things?” she echoed what he said, “who has lived longer between you and me Eros? Who have lived through some of the hardships that should not even be mentioned to you third generations? Who Eros?” Aphrodite wanted to shout it but she controlled her voice and oddly it made the room vibrate with the intensity. “You arrows didn’t open anything Eros, it only cursed you into an ever lasting spell on that little wench you claim as wife,” this time Aphrodite raised her bell like voice higher as she glided gracefully still across the room. She was getting sick and tired of this fight knowing it was just pointless. If only she had gotten rid of her before it was too late. If only she could get a chance to talk to Zeus, to lull him into making Psyche into a mortal again but it would be tricky with Hera, since through Aphrodite’s eyes, who was paranoid. “Then I will ask for Mnemosyne to the muses tomorrow,” she glowered at her son who dared to challenge her. Pity had swelled up in her, he acted like any other mortal or immortal who got hit with his arrows.
Aphrodite’s blue eyes flared as she caught what Eros said, “repeat that again Eros and I will make sure you can kiss no more nor talk with those lips of yours,” she hissed at her son. Everything about her features seemed to sharpen in the most threatening way as possible. Aphrodite rolled her eyes once again and placed her hands on her hips. “Cause she’s so perfect, yadda, yadda, yadda, I’ve heard that speech before honey, it ain’t something new,” she cocked her head sharply at her son and pierced her blue eyes at him. She had already set up her mind, she’d ask help to the nymphs, the monsters and her sources to torture the couple. To separate them for the time being until they’d learned their lesson. She knew their love would still stick like rotten glue but at least they’d under half the meaning of Aphrodite’s wrath. In Aphrodite’s anger, she would go to the extreme and would take some time to have her cool down. “Say more of it and I’ll make sure your ‘Goddess’ will never see the light, mark my words Eros, you know the height of temper and still you play in my turf,” Aphrodite sounded sure as she was, she was really serious though. With every she said, if Eros would push more, nothing could keep her from unleashing her own hell. “Do you have to be reassured Eros? I am your mother, of course I would be proud of you, do I really have to say it in words?” Aphrodite’s maternal side surfaced despite her temper as she looked out and then back.
“Did I ever say it was about me Eros?” she asked in a cold and hard voice.

Eros remained in the air, and therefore out of his mothers reach. "You.." He muttered then added "But who has the warmer heart?, who knows what love is? who can show it? who can feel it? because it's not you Mother, it will never be you. You don't even half an ounce of selfless personality in you, I can make you love, make you loyal to one being only. Then you'd know how it feels." he stated. His eyes narrowed his own temper flared spurred on by his Mothers words "Don't talk about Psyche like that! You don't even know her mother!, why won't you just give her a chance? why won't you just talk to her?!" He pleaded, he hated his mother at the current time so forth righteous and self centered, why could she not see a good thing when it was in front of her? Eros nodded curtly and snapped his gaze aside away from his mother, ashamed of her. He remained in the air, and wouldn't come down till his mother was calmer.
Eros folded his arms as a barrier of personal space, he wouldn't call his mother bluff for he new she would do as she claimed. He only glanced to his mother, the rage was still evident in her gaze, that once again he felt the sudden wave of intimidation. He looked to the side as his mother continued to bad mouth Psyche, yet he held his tongue, there was so many things he wished to say, yet if he was to say anything, then there would be dire actions then taken. Cupid avoid his mothers gaze it was so much more easier to argue with a monster when you didn't look it in the eye. Silence for a moment stretched in which time Eros tried to calm down, and he did, to an extent. He shot her a look before he looked down to his hands, like a sorry needy if not pathetic child. Tentatively he raised his gaze to meet his mothers "Once in a while it wouldn't hurt.." he added "I just want to be reassured to know that you are capable of love, that you do not regret having me, as I see in your eyes sometimes how you wish I had been different, or how you wished you had never had a child, who would prove difficult, who would challenge you, and who do nothing but stand in your way.." He heard his mothers tone and shook his head slowly.."No.." he said at a whisper, feeling now suddenly ashamed.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY LIKE THE NIGHT OF CLOUDLESS CLIMES AND STARRY SKIES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND ALL THAT'S BEST OF DARK AND BRIGHT MEET IN HER ASPECT AND HER EYES Aphrodite flared, “you don’t think I’ve not learned that Eros? What do you think how you’d feel Eros when you have seen disasters that struck down here and there before? I am thankful I am still like this, how do you think your precious Psyche feel when she saw the horrors that Zeus is now trying to hide? You’d be thankful if she could still talk,” her voice had risen and it was sharp but not shrilly. Wind blew into the temple and made Aphrodite’s hair dance gracefully but menacingly. The things Eros said were true, but the Aphrodite now who was blinded by temper was not level headed at the moment. But no doubt she would get his meaning sooner of later. “That’s selfishness Eros, loving one person when you can spread it to anyone, but when you are as one sided as you are, the love would not be genuinely there,” Aphrodite pointed as she looked at her son flying up her, clearly keeping his distance from her. Which was the wisest thing to do when she was in this state. “God, you are so like your father!” she exclaimed in a frustrated voice and turned around, thinking about Ares. She had regretted why it had been Ares for a moment but then shook it off. “Why? Because she’d think I’m warming up to her, I have to admit Eros, you look good together but it doesn’t mean you get along or that I agree, sooner or later Eros, there would be a time when the spell upon your arrows fade and you would regret,” she threw a glare at Eros.
Aphrodite felt a need to express her wrath. It would be chaos if she did, the only thing that would satisfy her now would watch a few mortals stir up a situation that was similar to hers, and she’d control the ending. Where the mother in law won, and the pesky little wench would either die or banish, never to bother the family again. “Why do you think I gave you my blessing with Psyche, Eros?” she raised her eye brows at her son. Though her temper was boiling, she couldn’t help but let out the maternal side of her. It was something she partly grown used to. She pressed her beautifully carved finger press the bridge of her nose as she closed her eyes. Her blonde hair tumbled down, covering her face as she collected herself. She didn’t want to lose her temper more. “You are no longer a child Eros, do you want me to treat you like a child?” she asked without lifting her head up to her son, “hasn’t it ever crossed your mind if I wasn’t proud of you, you’d still be here in my presence?” this time she lifted her head. The side of which didn’t like being angry long surfaced once again as her face suddenly showed a bit of vulnerability. And then it vanished as Eros spoke again, “I do regret Eros,” she said in a harsh and cold voice, “because you don’t treat me with respect as a son would treat his mother, because you don’t listen to me when you know a mother knows best, because you don’t understand!” she threw her hands up in the air and looked accusingly at him.
She had to talk with Ares again about his son. When Aphrodite fled to her lovers, she always looked vulnerable and hurt, which she was. And then after, she’d convince other immortals to seek out her revenge. True though that she didn’t hold any grudge but it took sometime to let a plan slip from her mind. The two seemed really far from the topic. It had been about Artemis getting a man at first and not a fray between a mother and a son. All that was missing now was the father.

Eros was silent as he listened the lecture, his pupils dilated a few times "I know I'd handle the situations in an adult manor, but not you, out of your jealousy your spite, like a child you wished me to destroy a person for the sake of yourself, That's what is selfish Mother, Had I'd been you, god forbid that I ever do turn out like you, I would handle it rationally, not irrationally, not like some spoiled being." He glowered down to his mother." Psyche would understand." was all he could really say. "No it's not selfishness Mother, because you are giving your love to another being and they in turn are giving it back." He stated stubbornly. He folded his arms at her accusation "Good! I'd soon rather be like him then anything like you." He stated flatly, although he knew that if his mother felt anything that one comment would perhaps hurt her. Eros sighed impatiently "No she wouldn't, but you won't even give her the chance, Why cannot you not talk to her? Please Mother? It's all I have ever asked of you, why can you not make an effort, or show that you are even interested, I don't even feel like I have ever been your child. If love is that true, then no mater what happens I will still love her, and she me."
Eros held his breath for a moment simply to collect his thoughts and at least seem reasonable. He soon heard his mother speak once again, "I don't know surprise me? and besides, you didn't actually give us any blessing, she and I married on our own accord you only found out after I had married her. I do not regret that decision either." He fell silent for both of their sakes in order to calm down, at her words his voice softened greatly. "I didn't ask you to treat me like a child Mother, I merely asked you to express your interest to make me feel like I even am your son, but you show little interest, you always have." He said and raised his eyes upward briefly. before he shook his head and looked down. "No because I have been nothing to you but a tool, and you know that." The next words he heard were not what he expected, he was a mistake?, each word hurt like an individual arrow. He straighted in the air and looked down to her, his expression plain masking the hurt. "Why should I respect you when you don't give respect in turn? Why should I when your too consumed in yourself to notice any affection when it has so many times been given? and you don't listen to me either, you don't hear my opinions, because there not your ones, because their different to yours, you always have to be right, always perfect. Now that someone has all but bested you..you act like this?" he splayed his hands hurt evident in his voice.
Eros looked to his mother, and for once pitied her, he no longer worshiped her as he did in his younger years. She was the loser not the winner, he was the winner, he was capable of loving, of giving and showing love, whilst his mother was a twisted cold hearted being, who only ever thought of her self. He shook his head "I don't know who you are anymore.." he whispered. Then pursed his, "your no longer my mother." He said harshly, as he debated flying off, leaving her to bask in her self. He'd go to Psyche maybe, he'd never talk to his mother, Psyche would understand to, would comfort him, give him that love he had never received from his mother. For awhile he remained in the air debating.
